Street Renegade

As the most restricted power adder class running, the Street Renegade cars continue to really push their limits. What was once a relatively simple street car class (much like Street Outlaw's beginning) is now on the edge of breaking into the eights. In fact, Bart Tobener was about as close you can get, qualifing number one with a 9.021 @ 153.68 mph.

Perhaps the Renegade surprise of the weekend was when Chip Havemann, qualifing a disappointing number eight, went out in the first round against Bob Kurgan. However, it wasn't much of a surprise to see Bart Tobener and Craig Zurman in the final round. Qualifing number one and two, and keeping a good few tenths ahead of the field, they made it appear almost effortless to get to the finals. In the end they would finish just as they qualified - Tobener number one, and Zurman number two.
